If you recently bought a trailer, caravan or a heavy vehicle from interstate you will require a HVRAS certificate and a vehicle details form to get it registered in QLD.

What is HVRAS?
HVRAS is formally known as the Heavy Vehicle Registration Assessment Scheme, which was produced by the Department of Mains Road. HVRAS inspection is a process of measuring and collecting all information from the vehicle before they get registered in QLD, only if the vehicle came from another state. When is a HVRAS inspection needed?
- Light trucks with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) 4.5tonnes or more
- Trailers with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) over 750kg
What do HVRAS inspections involve?
- Measure and calculate dimensional limits
- Safe tyre loads and limits
- Assess load sharing axle systems
- Vehicle identification checks
